The St. Louis Blues announced on Friday that they have come to terms on a one year extension for prospect forward T.J. Hensick. Hensick’s extension is a two-way contract that allows him to play for both the Blues and the Peoria Riverman. The Blues traded for Hensick back on June 17 in exchange for Julian Talbot. In seven games with the Avalanche last year, Hensick had a goal and two assists. In 58 games with Colorado’s  AHL team Erie, Hensick recorded 20 goals and 70 points and was named an AHL All-Star. I think Hensick will start the season with the Blues and could contribute right away. Even though he struggled at the NHL level with Colorado, I believe a change of scenery will be good for both Hensick and the Blues oragnization.
