The Blues roll back into town after an impressive win in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night and a day off. The win in Pittsburgh was nice, but I think I speak for the majority of St. Louis when I say dominating “Sid the Kid” was very satisfying. It’s a new day, and a new game to focus on now as the Blues turn their eyes to “Kipper” and the Flames. Thered-hot Flames goalie is obviously they key factor that the Blues need to focus on, if he is to play tonight’s game. I don’t see any reason the Flames would sit him tonight. Calgary is clearly looking to salvage their road record, as they have lost 3 out of the last 4 competitions. To say the Blues should be the only ones worried about their 0pponents goaltending would be inaccurate. While Jaroslav Halak continues to try and become the elite goalie he is expected to be, backup Brian Elliott continues to pick up the slack. It’s not clear who will get the nod to start tonight, but I’d put my money on Elliott. The man has been flat-out amazing. In his 9 starts this season, he has recorded an 8-1 record with a 1.48GAA. Halak, on the other hand, has a 3-7-2 record with a 2.57 GAA. Coach Hitchcock seems to have made very smart decisions in his 8 games thus far in St. Louis, so whatever goalie he does put in net, he’s got my support. It’s a short preview tonight due to lack of time(and sleep…Thanks Black Friday!), but check back tomorrow for the recap of a hopeful Blues’ win!
