This past week the Blues wrapped up the first of their two long road trips, and they emerged extremely successful. Last week they won three out of four, and over the course of the whole road trip they won five out of six. Talk about a turn around. The Blues knew they had to prove their mettle on the road, as they had begun to look like a sloppy and mediocre team when playing away from the Scottrade Center. Coming out of this road trip the Blues have given themselves and their fans some confidence as they head into another long trip.
With the exception of the game in Vancouver, the team played with a lot of spark. TJ Oshie, Alex Pietrangelo, and Jaroslav Halak all played a big role in each win. However, Andy McDonald not only
re-established his role on the Blues last week, but he has reshaped the team itself, adding a dynamic of speed and scoring which will continue to prove essential as the team continues to make its push for the Western Conference Championship. McDonald has fit back into the team fast, and has been shuffled in the first line in the past few games. He lit fire last week, totaling 3 goals and 1 assist. The importance of McDonald’s return is undeniable going into the playoffs, as he has been a major factor for the team finding a scoring edge and confidence on the road. Looks like Old McDonald is back on the farm.
