In his fourth year in St. Louis, Carlo Colaiacovo had a lackluster season recording only 2 goals and 17 assists, down 7 points from last season and 13 from the ’09-’10 season. The 8-year veteran played only 64 games for the Blues this season, and was commonly a healthy scratch for Ken Hitchcock.

However, Colaiacovo did contribute to the top ranked NHL defense, registering a +/- of 7, and had significant improvement during the playoffs, where he ranked tied for third in assists. He was also a physical presence in the post season, recording 16 penalty minutes.

Colaiacovo is an unrestricted free agent after this season, and will unlikely be resigned by the Blues, who have multiple prospects on the fringe of making it to the NHL.
