On Monday, the Nashville Predators extended their star center Mike Fisher for two years, through the 2014-2015 season. At age 32, Fisher is probably the most consistent offensive threat for the Preds, and avoided a possible contract battle next year by inking the 8.4 million dollar deal.
In his first full year in Nashville (after originally being acquired from Ottowa in Feb, 2011), Fisher tallied 51 points as the team’s first line center. After the Predators lost much of their depth on offense this offseason, keeping him was essential, especially if they want to contend in the tough Central Division.
In his 12 year career, Fisher has tallied 196 goals and 215 assists.
