With the NHL’s new offer on the table and a potential start to the season on November 2nd, players injured in Europe in the early season could miss NHL games. For the Blues, defensemen Kris Russel, and promising rookie forward Vladimir Tarasenko reportedly have injuries.
The good news is, it seems Russel has recovered from what was reported to be a leg injury and should be given the thumbs up to play this weekend for his team in Finland. He had returned to North America due to the injury but now may be on his way back.
Tarasenko’s left his KHL game in the second period a few days ago. It has been said (with pure speculation) that he may have a concussion, but nothing has been declared officially and he might still be playing in his team’s next contest. If he does have a concussion however, which would continue the recent trend for Blues’ players in recent years, it could be a big blow to the second or third scoring line if the season ever starts.
