On Tuesday, the St. Louis Blues announced that recently signed Dmitrij Jaskin was recalled from the Peoria Rivermen and will report to the St. Louis Blues. In 51 games this season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Jaskin put up an impressive 99 points including 46 goals and 53 assists. That is an average of 1.94 points-per-game. Prior to the 2012-13 season, Jaskin was playing in the Czech Extraleague and posted just 12 points in 63 games.
The Russian native could be a great addition to this St. Louis Blues team and will have Vladimir Tarasenko, a fellow Russian, to help with any language barrier that he might face.
It is not yet known when Jaskin will make his debut in the NHL, but it could be as early as tonight.
Stay tuned for more as we have it.
