Playoff Hopes for the St. Louis Blues

While the St. Louis Blues seem to have picked up their game play over the past couple weeks, the team does not seem ready for playoff hockey.  Brian Elliott’s resurgence has all but guaranteed St. Louis a playoff spot, but how far can the note go this postseason.

At the beginning of the year, fans expectations for this team were very high.  As the weeks dragged on we watched two great goalies fail to provide the effort needed behind our failing defense.  Alex Pietrangelo and Kevin Shattenkirk were scoring points but making bad passes.  The offense was scoring goals but not back checking.  The team has seemed out of touch for most of the season and while it is a shortened year, there is no excuse.

Once the playoffs start, it is a whole new ball game.  The St. Louis Blues could hope to get a first round win, but in a tough Western Conference playing against Anaheim or Chicago would mean almost certain elimination for the St. Louis Blues.

As the season winds down, fans will hope for the best for the boys in blue, but may have to start looking to next season before we see any real chance of bringing Lord Stanley’s Cup to St. Louis.

More as we have it.

LET’S GO BLUES!
