The NHL announced today that St. Louis Blues Goaltender, Brian Elliott, has been named one of the three stars in April. What an achievement for Elliott, who has turned things around this month. Not only has he helped the team end the regular season on a high note by smashing their rivals, the Chicago Blackhawks, he also helped the Blues gain a position in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs with the home ice advantage for the beginning of round one, starting on April 30 in St. Louis.
It has been a thrilling month watching the St. Louis Blues’ Goaltender prove to himself, his team and his fans that he truly is a star and deserving of this title. In the past five games, Elliott has stopped 93 out of 101 goal attempts at the crease and seems to have gained back the confidence that he lacked earlier in the season. He has played a more consistent game, which we hope will continue throughout the post-season and help us win the Stanely Cup. Elliott is definitely a star in my book!
As the St. Louis Blues embark on their 2013 Playoff journey, they will host the 2012 Playoff champions, the LA Kings, for game one on Tuesday night. Will Elliott be able to handle the extra pressure that comes with the team competing in the Playoffs? Will Coach, Ken Hitchcock choose to start Elliott on Tuesday on home ice? Will Goaltenders, Jaroslav Halak and Jake Allen be able to start fresh after a break from the crease and maintain the pressure necessary to stop the LA Kings? We will have our answers by tomorrow, as we watch our entire team of stars out on the ice. Below is the TV schedule for the St. Louis Blues vs Los Angeles Kings.
