Kevin Shattenkirk Signs Four Year Extension with St. Louis Blues

News has just broken that Kevin Shattenkirk has agreed to a four-year, $17 million contract extension with the St. Louis Blues.

Yesterday the Blues announced that they had reached terms on a one year extension for center Patrik Berglund, but now the Blues have made big waves by locking up one of their top young defensemen.

Shattenkirk has 201 games in the NHL under his belt managing to put up 23 goals and 109 points for a plus-18 rating.

So now the Blues have two of their restricted free agents signed. Still remaining are Alex PietrangeloChris StewartKris Russell and Jake Allen.

The Blues now look to lock up Chris Stewart and Alex Pietrangelo among other before the start of free agency on July 5th.
