Defenseman Jordan Leopold has agreed to a two year contract with the St. Louis Blues worth $4.5 million.
Leopold, who has only played 15 regular season and six playoff games for the Blues during his brief stint in St. Louis, will carry a $2.25 million salary cap hit and will keep him with the Blues until the age of 34.
The St. Louis Blues had acquired Leopold just before the 2013 NHL Trade Deadline for a second round and conditional fifth round pick.
The signing of Leopold allows the Blues to set their salary before the start of free agency. With just Chris Stewart and Alex Pietrangelo left to lock up, the Blues now have a good idea of what they can spend on a free agent.
More as we have it.
