St. Louis Blues Acquire Pat Cannone From Ottawa Senators

On Monday the St. Louis Blues acquired forward Pat Cannone from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for future considerations.

In 2012-13, Pat Cannone appeared  in 74 games for the AHL’s  Binghamton Senators.  The 26 year-old managed to net 25 points including 10 goals and 15 assists.

Listed at 5’11” and 192-pounds, Cannone should be a strong force for the Blues’ new AHL affiliate the Chicago Wolves.  Throughout 152 career games in the AHL, Cannone has scored some 30 goals and 40 assists while racking up just 75 penalty minutes.

Cannone is unlikely to make his NHL debut this upcoming season, but the Blues see something in the prospect that they like moving forward.

The move gives this St. Louis team even more depth on offense as they already have a bit of a log jam on their NHL roster.

The Bayport, New York native was originally signed by Ottawa as a college free agent on April 8, 2011.
