#37 in the NHL, David Backes

David Backes has been a big part of this St. Louis Blues lineup for many reasons, but being one of the top 50 forwards in the NHL doesn’t seem to be one of them.  Sure, Backes has hit the 30 goal mark a couple of times, but his value comes more in his on and off ice leadership as well as the use of his body than in the “skill” department.

Backes is surely one of the top players in the game for many reasons, but I would have probably left him in the latter half of this list.
