Alex Pietrangelo might have just won his first ever Olympic gold medal, but he’s still got his eyes on the ultimate prize for the St. Louis Blues. The 24-year-old was an important cog on a defensive juggernaut Canadian team that dominated the medal round of play, and he’s back in St. Louis now with only one thing on his mind.
Winning the Stanley Cup.

It’s good to see the youngster have some confidence after playing so well in Sochi. He was a little shaky during the preliminary rounds as Canada’s defensive scheme was coming together, but as the Winter Games wore on, Pietrangelo looked more and more comfortable.
That could have something to do with the fact that he played with his same defense partner from the Blues, Jay Bouwmeester. Check out all of Pietrangelo’s comments in this interview clip from the official site of the Blues.
The Blues will be back in action on Wednesday, and they’ll face the Vancouver Canucks on the road.
