Vancouver Players to Watch

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Vancouver Canucks have the firepower needed to be an offensive handful on any given night. Injuries have really piled up for them lately though, so it’s tough to know exactly who the Blues will be facing in this contest.

One player that may or may not be ready to go is Ryan Kesler. He was injured blocking a shot while playing for the United States in Sochi, and hasn’t been cleared to return to action yet. Henrik Sedin is likely to return, which is great news to an offense that has struggled to score enough goals to get by recently.

He’s joined by Daniel Sedin, and shutting down their freaky-twin-cycle thing is of the upmost importance for the Blues while playing in their own end. Kevin Bieksa probably won’t be ready to go. Neither will Chris Tanev, and Alex Burrows hopes to be able to play against St. Louis as well.

The injuries haven’t exactly cleared up for the Canucks during the Olympic break, and they’ll once again turn to Roberto Luongo or Eddie Lack to do more than their fair share of heavy lifting.
