Despite the St. Louis Blues 1-0 loss last night to the Vancouver Canucks, it was obvious for at least one Bluenote forward that the Olympic Break was finally over. Ryan Reaves played with an intensity Wednesday night that’s been missed by the Blues for the last month or so and Alexander Edler, unfortunately for him, picked up all the slack of the NHL being shut down since February 9th.
I was impressed by the entire Blues team energy last night, though it seemed they were a little too loose and free-wheeling at times, maybe skating with a little too much ferocity, slightly out of control. With powerhouse Anaheim looming Friday night, I hope the Blues can maintain their focus and tighten things up enough to finally get some pucks to go in the net.
One thing we know for sure, Ryan Reaves is glad to be back on the ice and is going to sacrifice his body to do his job. St. Louis out-hit Vancouver last night 31-18 but got out-shot 35-20. Friday night needs top be more balanced.
GO BLUES! LONG LIVE THE NOTE!
