Steve Ott Earns First Point With St. Louis Blues (Video)

It took Steve Ott a few games, but he’s registered his first point as a member of the St. Louis Blues. After the team fell behind early in both of Ott’s first two contests, St. Louis struck first against Pekka Rinne and the Nashville Predators. With the faceoff to the left of the goaltender, Ott drew the puck back cleanly to defenseman Ian Cole.

Cole—who has spent time as a healthy scratch recently—looked up and saw the Rinne was dealing with some traffic. He rifled one home, giving the Blues the 1-0 lead and Ott his first point with the team.

Both Ott and Ryan Miller were brought in prior to the deadline to help push St. Louis to the next level, so it’s great to see the forward making an impact. Not only did he pick up the primary assist, but he also won the faceoff. That’s something that the Blues will be looking for down the stretch from Ott.
