If you’re looking for the embodiment of three different St. Louis Blues players all rolled up into one sequence, we’ve got the video for you. Locked in a 0-0 tie with the Colorado Avalanche in the second period, Kevin Shattenkirk found T.J. Oshie with a stellar stretch pass, hitting the open forward at the blueline.
Oshie then makes a dandy move around a Colorado defender before hitting David Backes with a pass just as he arrives at the top of the crease.
As Darren Pang says: “Holy jumpin’!”
The goal materialized out of nowhere, and started with Shattenkirk’s vision and tape-to-tape pass to Oshie, who really made the goal happen by controlling the puck while under pressure. Oh, and from his knees as well.
That was an important tally for Backes, who has been struggling to score lately.
Backes’ 21st goal of the season was his first in eight games. With 153 in his career, he’s two goals shy of Wayne Babych for 10th all time.

And nothing like a little love from the official Twitter account of the NHL to put a stamp on a beauty of a goal.
