Yesterday T.J. Oshie made waves with a spectacular pass to David Backes against the Nashville Predators. It was a slick and dandy move that showed Oshie’s soft hands in traffic. Tonight against the Minnesota Wild, the forward showed another set of skills entirely.
With the St. Louis Blues on the power play midway through the first period, Alexander Steen takes a hard slap shot from just inside the blue line. Three Blues players converge on the net, looking for the rebound. Oshie had been battling in front of Ilya Bryzgalov for several seconds though, and was able to bang home the rebound to give St. Louis a 1-0 lead.
Oshie has been on fire since returning from the Winter Olympics. He was one of America’s best players in Sochi, and has continued his high level of play for St. Louis. He has three points in his last four games—for some reason his helper on the Backes goal in Nashville has been stripped—and has been among the most productive players for the Blues as of late.
