The St. Louis Blues are back at home tonight and looking to extend their current five-game winning streak by downing the Dallas Stars. Alex Pietrangelo got things started off right by scooping up a loose puck in front of Tim Thomas before flicking a wrister to the top of the net.
In case you couldn’t tell, St. Louis was pretty stoked about Pietrangelo’s tally. The roar of the crowd seemed to amp the defenseman up, and he pumped his fist to celebrate.
The goal was set up by a lot of hard work down low by the Blues. Magnus Paajarvi continued his recent strong play by barreling out to the netmouth from behind the cage and attempting to stuff the puck behind Thomas. That attempt wouldn’t go, but the scramble caused the Stars to lose track of Pietrangelo, who was way down into the offensive zone to help.
The pinch was effective, and gave the Blues a 1-0 lead.

St. Louis would give up the tying marker before the end of the first, but the Pietrangelo goal was still a dandy because of the hard work by the forwards along the walls and in front of the net.
