Can the St. Louis Blues make it six straight wins? That’s the question that will be on everybody’s mind tonight as they take on the Dallas Stars in front of what is sure to be a rowdy crowd at the Scottrade Center. For St. Louis, this game is about maintaining positive momentum.
They haven’t lost a game since acquiring Ryan Miller and Steve Ott ahead of the trade deadline, and have wrestled away the top spot in the NHL away from the Anaheim Ducks with their recent hot streak. Only the Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins have been playing as well as St. Louis lately, and the Stars could have their hands full with this fast, aggressive club.
You’d have to forgive Dallas for being a bit distracted heading into St. Louis. Their contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets was postponed last night because center Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench. Various sources, including NHL.com, are reporting that Peverley is in stable condition and resting after the incident.
Still, after witnessing something scary like that, it’s tough to simply return to work the next day. That’s what the Stars are being tasked with this evening, however.
