Alexander Steen gave the St. Louis Blues something that they haven’t had since the 2010-11 season when he scored tonight: a 30-goal scorer. With a 3-1 lead in the third period, the sniper was able to finish a rare three-on-one chance by absolutely blowing the puck by Pekka Rinne.
The chance came on yet another nasty turnover by a Predators team that was unable to clear their defensive zone all night. Three of the four goals that St. Louis scored came because a Nashville player turned the puck over. This time, it was in the neutral zone after a sloppy outlet pass.
Again, this is the first 30-goal guy that the Blues have had since 2010-11.

St. Louis now has points in eight consecutive games and has suddenly opened up an eight-point lead in the Central Division. Surprisingly, that lead is over the Colorado Avalanche and not the Chicago Blackhawks.
