Patrik Berglund has stolen the show for the St. Louis Blues tonight, but Vladimir Tarasenko might have scored the prettiest goal on the evening by swatting his own rebound out of the air. The Nashville Predators have had a ton of problems clearing their defensive zone against a quick and aggressive Blues team, and Tarasenko was able to score his 21st goal of the year because on another failed attempt.
It’s tough to tell from that angle, but it seems that the talented Russian forward was able to knock his own rebound out of the air.
Tremendous hand-eye coordination by Tarasenko to swat that one in short side on a puck out of mid air. #stlblues

That isn’t some scrub in net either. Pekka Rinne is one of the better goalies in the NHL when healthy, but he gave up a nasty rebound on this one. The Predators weren’t able to prevent Tarasenko from getting to his own rebound, and found themselves down 3-0 because of it.
BLUES GOAL! Vladimir Tarasenko gets his own rebound and puts the Blues ahead 3-0. #stlblues

Eric Nystrom would get Nashville on the board before the end of the second period, but the Blues were well on their way to another victory.
