Magnus Paajarvi

The first guy that should come to mind as a possible Tarasenko replacement is Magnus Paajarvi. He started out the 2013-14 campaign cold and struggled to produce for much of the season, but he’s been solid since the Winter Olympics ended. He seems energized and more engaged than he had been, and has been able to find the back of the net as a result.

He has four points in his last six games and has scored twice in that time span. Paajarvi only has six goals on the year, so he’s clearly been playing better puck recently. Hitchcock has named him specifically as a guy that has an opportunity in the wake of Tarasenko’s injury, so the chance will certainly be there for him to play important minutes.
