Carlo Colaiacovo Replaces Ian Cole For St. Louis Blues vs Philadelphia Flyers

The St. Louis Blues will continue to rotate their depth defenseman ahead of the playoffs. Carlo Colaiacovo will draw into the lineup on Saturday afternoon against the Philadelphia Flyers, replacing Ian Cole on the bottom pairing. This has become common for the Blues, and head coach Ken Hitchcock seems to be trying to keep everyone fresh and in game shape before the postseason.

Colaiacovo has played in 14 contests for St. Louis this season after toiling with the Detroit Red Wings for a year. He returned to the Blues during the offseason, where he had played for three campaigns before signing on in Motown. The veteran of nearly 400 NHL contests, Colaiacovo brings valuable experience and depth to the bottom of St. Louis’ defensive rotation.

As Norm Sanders of the Belleville News-Democrat Tweeted, Jordan Leopold still isn’t quite ready to go yet. He’s been out since February 8 and has only appeared in 24 games for the Blues this season.
