The Kings have had trouble scoring all season long, floating near the bottom of the league averaging only 2.35 goals per game. The St. Louis Blues have been just the opposite, currently 4th in the NHL at 3.10. LA’s lack of scoring isn’t necessarily due to lack of effort however, as they’re averaging more than 2 shots per game more than the Blues.
The Kings added Marian Gaborik at the trade deadline to help put the puck in the net, but in 8 games since joining the club he’s netted only 2 goals and 4 total points. The Blues simply have more firepower.
