Ryan Miller to start for St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild

No one should expect too many surprises from Ken Hitchcock and the St. Louis Blues as the 2013-14 regular season comes to a close. Ryan Miller is going to be the team’s workhorse from now until they bow out of the playoffs or win the Stanley Cup, and he will be back in net tonight when the Blues host the Minnesota Wild.

This is another important outing for the former Buffalo Sabre as he tries to settle back into a rhythm. While his record is still strong, Miller has struggled a bit in his last three outings for the Blues. His save percentage dipped below .900 in all three of his last appearances.

Sometimes downward blips can happen, but Miller needs to turn around his slumping personal numbers before they spread to the Blues as a whole. He’s facing fewer shots than he was in Buffalo, yet he’s struggling to come up with as many stops. That’s seems backwards.

Regardless, Miller will be in goal tonight against a hungry Wild team that represents a possible playoff opponent for St. Louis.
