Jordan Leopold Set to Return For St. Louis Blues vs Buffalo Sabres

The St. Louis Blues and Buffalo Sabres have made a handful of swaps over the last two trade deadlines. While the Ryan Miller and Steve Ott deal was a showstopper this season, they also acquired Jordan Leopold last year. He’s had a tough season in St. Louis, skating in only 24 games while dealing with injuries.

He’ll be back in the lineup tonight for the first time since February 8—against his former team, no less.

Head coach Ken Hitchcock is juggling several defensemen at the moment, bringing blueliners such as Carlo Colaiacovo and Ian Cole in and out of the lineup to keep them fresh for the playoffs. Leopold will now become a part of an enviable mix of depth veteran defenders that can step in and play at a moments notice.

The journeyman played in two full seasons with Buffalo and parts of a third one before the trade to St. Louis went down on March 30 of last year.
