The events of Game Two left a sour taste in the mouths of the Blues, and for all the chatter about moving on, whenever they look down the bench they’ll have a hard time noticing that David Backes ins’t sitting there. He was knocked out of Game Two by a nasty Brent Seabrook elbow to the head, and the team has stated that the captain won’t be able to go tonight.
Seabrook will be watching from the sidelines as well. The NHL handed him a three-game suspension for his hit on Backes, lending even more intrigue to the series. Will this outstanding quarterfinal matchup disintegrate into nothing more than a process of retaliatory strikes?

There’s a ton of star power in this series, so it’s a mild shame that analyzing the series has been broken down into two fan bases throwing poo at each other. There’s a feeling that it could go to the next level if the opportunity is there, and the next few games are going to be interesting, to say the least.
