Good morning Blues fans! Welcome to the weekend everyone. We’re all hoping the team can make it a good weekend.

The St. Louis Blues aren’t who they thought we were right now. They aren’t as good as they looked in the first three games and they aren’t struggling due to the reasons feared before the season.

Still, though we are all concerned with what is wrong with the team, they are still in a guaranteed playoff spot. They aren’t very far from the top of the division either.

It does not feel that way since they’ve taken a bit of a nose dive after such a strong start. However, just because we are in a negative frame of mind doesn’t mean we only have to focus on the negative facts when there are positive ones.

Now, the team is switching their focus to the weekend. They were given a day off practice to rest and take their minds off the game and hopefully get refreshed for back-to-back home games.

More from Bleedin' Blue

They’ll start things off with a game against former divisional foe, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Despite their current spot outside the playoff picture, they won’t be an easy win.

They are currently +12 in goal difference. They aren’t lighting up the world in terms of goals scored, but they are scoring and definitely keeping them out.

That’s not exactly a situation made in heaven for a team struggling to score goals right now. The Blues are going to need to dig deep, find something and get back on the winning track.

Here are your St. Louis Blues Morning Links to get your day started off right.

We all have questions regarding what is wrong with our beloved hockey team. Jeremy Rutherford tried his best to answer some of them since he is as close to the team as anyone not actually suiting up. (STLToday)

The first three games of the season were either fool’s gold or, hopefully, what this team is capable of.  For now, the reality is the numbers back up the idea that this team is just not good at this moment.  (Bleedin’ Blue)

This has been in the works for awhile, but for those that missed it, the Blues are partnering with the St. Louis County Library for a special exhibit to celebrate their 50 years.  It is to open in about a month and should be quite a spectacle.  (Blues)

The Blues and their fans better hope that Columbus used up all their energy in beating the Montreal Canadiens.  If you can believe it, they crushed the Canadiens by an unbelievable score of 10-0 on Friday.  (NHL)

It used to be that using a tandem goaltender system like the Blues have for the last few seasons was an anomaly.  Now, as the game evolves and gets faster, it is becoming the norm.  (NHL)

With their recent form, the Blues have taken a dive in more than just the standings.  They are much further down the power rankings as well.  (Puck Prose)

The Blues have been referred to as the Chicago Cubs of the NHL.  Now that the Cubs have won a title, Blues fans are actually hoping that nickname sticks.  The Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to lay claim to that as well.  (ESPN)

Have a great day Blues fans.  Heaven help us if we get another bad game.
