Good morning Blues fans! It’s another day, the sun rises and we all go on with our lives no matter the national outcome. We apply this to sports and should with our lives as well.

So, the election is finally over and while the election is not “official” the writing is on the wall. Regardless of who you voted for, we can all agree on one thing – the St. Louis Blues are our candidate and we don’t like the Blackhawks.

The Blues can heal our own little section of the nation and bring people together. No matter how you feel about the future of the country, if we are honest, won’t you not care all that much if the Blues can pull off a victory over Chicago?

The Blues could ease the sudden worry of our baseball friends who feel disenfranchised by their sudden lack of superiority over our neighbors to the north. Knocking off Chicago for the second time this season would definitely make fans on both sides of the isle feel much better.

Clearly, these are all trivial matters in the grand scope of things. However, when you really get down to life, it is the trivial moments that are sometimes the best times in life when we look back.

So, enjoy the game. Enjoy your hockey team. In honesty, they probably represent our area better than any politician whether local or otherwise.

Win or lose, the Blues will always be our team. They will always represent St. Louis.

Here are your St. Louis Blues Morning Links to get your day started off right.

There have been several complaints about the gameday presentation for the Blues, but one thing is for sure and that is they have a fantastic social media team. Although the reveal of the Winter Classic jerseys got spoiled by an early leak on the league’s website, the team has been having fun with it anyway. (Blues)

More from Bleedin' Blue

Nail Yakupov is finding himself in an unenviable position currently.  He is not going to play against Chicago and that makes three straight games.  He’s not happy about it, nor should he be.  (STLToday)

Going forward, the question now is whether you believe Yakupov is just the odd man out with a lineup that is playing well or whether you think the team has soured on him this quickly.  (Bleedin’ Blue)

The Blues-Blackhawks rivalry means a lot even off the ice.  The players had some fun, but kept the competitive juices going when playing a little video game hockey against some Chicago guys.  Just a little fun before the real stuff begins.  (STLToday)

The Chicago Blackhawks are starting their annual trip while the circus is in town in the Windy City.  The Blues aren’t catching them at the right time for that since the trip is just beginning, but they might be catching them at the right time as they try to adjust to a recent injury.  (Blackhawk Up)

Only a few days after getting trounced 10-0, the Montreal Canadiens got a pep talk from an unexpected source.  Just prior to their win over their rival Boston, they got some words of encouragement from the Golden Bear.  (ESPN)

It’s a little late to get into a fantasy league at this point, but for those of you already playing, you can check out a list of the top 100 forwards.  Take a look and see where the guys on your team rank.  (NHL)

Have a great day Blues fans!  It will all be ok…as long as we beat Chicago.
