Good morning Blues fans! It’s another game day with the Blues up north to take on a divisional opponent. The land mines still remain for road disappointment, but we will see.

The St. Louis Blues are up in Minnesota to take on the Wild tonight. For the first time in who knows how long, they actually have a chance to put together a road winning streak.

Additionally, they are trying to replicate what they did in New Jersey. The Blues actually played a complete game in their defeat of the Devils.

That’s something that has been hard to come by. Even in victories, the Blues seldom played a full 60 minutes or kept a strangle hold on the game. They did just that against the Devils.

The defense closed the gap, the offense generated chances and the goaltending was spot on. The team didn’t commit egregious turnovers and did a good enough job of staying out of the box.

Now, the Blues are hoping to carry that effort into tonight against the Wild. That’s no easy task.

The Wild have won three straight. Minnesota is also just as dangerous at home as the Blues have been on friendly ice. They are currently 8-3-0 at the Xcel Energy Center.

Minnesota also has the best goal difference in the Western Conference. So, they score a good amount and don’t give up many.

Even so, the Blues have won twice over assistant coach Mike Yeo’s former team this season. Those were at home, so tonight represents a different challenge.

If St. Louis has the same effort they did in New Jersey, they will have every opportunity to get the win.

Here are your St. Louis Blues Morning Links to get your day started off right.

The problem the Blues have had this year is too much of a Jekyll and Hyde mentality. They have a great game and then a poor one or score a bunch of goals and then get shut out. It is almost like having two completely different teams. (St. Louis Gametime)

On top of ending the road losing streak in New Jersey, their win represented something else.  Whether at home or on the road, the Blues have not won too many games by a wide margin.  The majority have been within one goal, but perhaps the team can make a habit of larger margins too.  (STLToday)

There are bound to be plenty of mixed emotions for Mike Yeo coming into tonight.  While he has settled in with the Blues and faced Minnesota a couple times already, this is the first time he will be in the visitor’s locker room or watching the game from the visitor’s benchand sometimes that fact gets to people.  (NHL)

As well as the Wild have been playing lately and to start the season, their fans are a bit apprehensive.  They’ve scored quite a bit and defended even better.  Despite this, the Wild have made a habit of going into slumps once winter hits and there is a chill in the air now.  (Gone Puck Wild)

Tage Thompson continues to be one of the better players for the University of Connecticut.  Though he is showing great potential already, we may have only seen a glimpse of what he can do.  (Sportz Edge)

When you say the name Dineen, people my age know of Kevin Dineen.  However, his father was somewhat of an icon in the game too and sadly passed away.  (ESPN)

This year has been quite crazy with games reaching double digit goals scored.  Columbus was the most well known for it, but now the Montreal Canadiens got in on the act.  (NHL)

Have a great day Blues fans!
