<div id="attachment_4176" class="wp-caption alignright" style="width: 310px"><a href="http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/104/files/2013/05/7314124.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-4176" title="NHL: Stanley Cup Playoffs-Toronto Maple Leafs at Boston Bruins" src="http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/104/files/2013/05/7314124-300x195.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="195" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">May 1, 2013; Boston, MA, USA; Boston Bruins center <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/r/reddewa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-bleedinblue.com" target="_blank">Wade Redden</a></strong> (6) celebrates a goal with the bench during the first period against the Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Garden. <p>Although Redden&#8217;s time in St. Louis was short, he proved his hockey sense was still there.  Posting two goals and three assists in 23 games with the St. Louis Blues, Redden found himself out of a roster spot when the Blues acquired both <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/leopojo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-bleedinblue.com" target="_blank">Jordan Leopold</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/b/bouwmja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-bleedinblue.com" target="_blank">Jay Bouwmeester</a></strong> to bolster the Blues defense.  St. Louis Blues GM Doug Armstrong was good enough to move Redden to Boston where he would have the chance to play and could be reunited with friend and former teammate <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/c/charazd01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-bleedinblue.com" target="_blank">Zdeno Chara</a></strong>.</p>
<p>While in Boston, Redden suited up in 6 games during the remainder of the season and managed to score one goal and add one assist.  Now, in Redden&#8217;s first playoff appearance with the Bruins, Redden scored a goal and an assist in just his first game.  Redden&#8217;s last playoff appearance was with the Rangers in 2008-09 with the New York Rangers when he played in seven games and posted two assists.  The goal was Redden&#8217;s first NHL Playoff goal since the 2006-07 playoffs when Redden was still with the Ottawa Senators.</p>
<p>We wish the best of luck to <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/r/reddewa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-bleedinblue.com" target="_blank">Wade Redden</a></strong> who is just a true professional in every way.</p>

<p>As the trade deadline comes to a close, the St. Louis Blues announced that they have traded veteran defenseman <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/r/reddewa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-bleedinblue.com" target="_blank">Wade Redden</a></strong> to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a conditional 2014 7th round draft pick.  The pick becomes a 2014 6th round pick if Redden plays one or more playoff games with the Bruins.</p>
<p>The move reduces the Blues defensive core to 8 after the acquisitions of <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/b/bouwmja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-bleedinblue.com" target="_blank">Jay Bouwmeester</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/leopojo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-bleedinblue.com" target="_blank">Jordan Leopold</a></strong>.</p>
<p>Redden, 35 years of age, has dressed in 23 games for the St. Louis Blues posting two goals, three assists, and a -1 rating.  Redden was signed after his contract was bought out by the New York Rangers.  The move to Boston will reunite Redden with his former teammate and partner <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/c/charazd01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-bleedinblue.com" target="_blank">Zdeno Chara</a></strong>.</p>
<p>More as we have it.</p>
