2. Home ice advantage and road ice familiarity

The Blues will play at Scottrade Center on Wednesday, Friday and possibly two more first-round games depending on the context of the series. While the Blues finished the regular season with a 24-13-4 home record, this scheduling is also crucial because St. Louis posted a home ice goal differential of +11.

At least two games will also be played at the United Center, a venue where the Blues pulled out a pair of comeback wins this season and have won three of their last four road contests against the Blackhawks.

Considering that Chicago encountered home and away losing streaks of at least four games throughout the season, the Blues could swing momentum from their first two home games to adapt to their rival’s atmosphere.
