David Perron

Grade: D

David Perron has had a very slow start to the season, and it carried into November. Perron registered just five points in the month, and two of them came in one game against the Detriot Red Wings.

This is Perron’s third tour of duty with the St. Louis Blues, and he was brought into the team to be a factor on the second line. Unfortunately for Doug Armstrong and the Blues, this has not been the case.

Instead, Perron has found himself on the third line for the majority of the season. DP57 is coming off a career year with the Vegas Golden Knights, and when the Blues gave him a four-year contract over the offseason, it had seemed like the Blues were adding a key offensive piece.

Perron has found a lot of time on the powerplay for the Blues this year, but he has not had any success. He has just one point on the powerplay in November despite the Blues success with the man advantage.

It’s easy to look at the Detriot game and say that Perron is turning his season around, but the fact is, he is still struggling to find any offensive consistency while at even strength. I could have bumped his grade up just a tad, but a ‘D’ is about where he has been in November.
