Former Blue T.J. Oshie And Lauren Cosgrove Tie The Knot

T.J. Oshie might have been traded by the St. Louis Blues front office to the Washington Capitals, but until he plays a game in a Caps uniform, he’s still a St. Louis Blue to us.

(Heck, we’ll still think of him as a Blue 10 years from now. That’s what spending the first seven years of your career in St. Louis will do for you.)

The former Blues right-winger turned Capital married longtime girlfriend Lauren Oshie neé Cosgrove Saturday July 25. Nothing official has come out yet. The couple have a daughter together, Lyla Oshie, who was born in 2014.

While no official photos have been published as of yet, a few were made public on Instagram and Twitter. We’ve culled the most pertinent ones and linked them for you below.

There’s a photo from what appears to be Lauren Oshie’s bachelorette party that she posted on her Instagram account

And a snap of the happy couple’s first dance.

Perhaps the best part of the story is the #OHshiesaidyes Oshie tagged her photo with. We at Bleedin’ Blue wish all the best to the Oshies in their marriage and in Washington (though we’re certain the Blues won’t take it easy on Oshie on the ice.)

Oshie was a top-six player for the Blues while in St. Louis, notching 310 points (110 g, 200 a), 20 of which were game-winning goals, over 443 games in a Blues sweater. He was a fan favorite and represented the Blues at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, earning himself some shootout fame that was well-deserved, considering his scoring talent.

Possibly more than his production on the ice, Oshie will be remembered in St. Louis for his dedication to community service, partnering with multiple charities and most recently with the Missouri March of Dimes to help combat premature births, which he did by donating the proceeds of his cereal, Oshie Os, to the Missouri MOD.
