The St. Louis Blues and the NHL revealed the official logo for the 2020 all-star game that will be held at the Enterprise Center on January 26, and it is awesome.

The St. Louis Blues unveiled the logo for the all-star game with a video that was similar to the one they published when the news broke that they were awarded the all-star game last spring.

The logo perfectly encapsulates what the great city of St. Louis is all about and offers some subtle details that are not caught by a single glance.

One of my favorite parts of the all-star game logo is the piano key design in the word “all.” It’s something that took someone else pointing out to me to notice, but it makes the design a million times better.

No St. Louis sporting event logo would be complete without an appearance from the Arch, which appears at the bottom of the logo and has a star resting in the middle of the St. Louis monument.

The gold star could also be interpreted in several ways. It could just be an indication that this is an all-star game, and thus, a star is placed somewhere on the logo.

Alternatively, they could be paying tribute to the city’s recent acquisition of an MLS team.

The recognition of a different major sports franchise in an all-star game logo is unlikely. However, soccer clubs often identify how many championships they have won by placing a star on their crest.

With the Blues having just won their first-ever Stanley Cup, it might be something that was done with intent, and if it was, I love it.

A St. Louis logo would not be complete without recognizing the blues in St. Louis Blues. The trumpets are one of the first things that catch your eye when you see the logo, and they bring significant meaning and balance to the design.

The last element of the logo that I found appealing was some kind of music symbol on the “S” in Star. It is noticeable right under the curve of the “s” and takes some eye squinting and head tilting to see, but it is a very welcome addition.

Some kind of music symbol is the best I can do, but my extensive research was unsuccessful in finding the actual word for what I’m looking at.

People have split feelings about the logo, and I’m not here to try to convince you to like the logo if you hate it. However, the league and the Blues really hit a home run with the design.
