With the St. Louis Blues not knowing if or when they might return to action, their network partner is stepping up. Select game will be replayed.

The St. Louis Blues and their fans are itching for the team to return to the ice. However, for the foreseeable future, the Blues and the NHL is self-quarantined.

It makes sense in a way, regardless of your personal or political views on the current situation. The reason it makes sense is because if you can get all the players isolated and know they’re healthy, it makes returning to action in empty arenas more viable because you would know they’re not sick and nobody around them would be sick.

That’s all still up in the air for the future. For now, fans are still trying to get their hockey fix and watching the Stanley Cup DVD or BluRay can only be done so many times.

With that in mind, Fox Sports Midwest is stepping up to the plate. Some fans will say it’s about time since the parent group that owns them, Sinclair, has been in a battle with YouTube TV and Dish and fans lost their access in the latter option and almost did for the other too. So, it’s nice they can actually do something for the benefit of the fans.

More from St Louis Blues News

FSM seems to be going with a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday schedule for the replays. Thursday March 19 will see a replay of the Blues against the Dallas Stars from October 5.

The Saturday following that will show the Blues against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Any chance to see Auston Matthews is welcome at this point

The Blues play the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, originally from October 24. Unfortunately, that was the game that Vladimir Tarasenko got hurt in.

After that, it’s games from the end October. The Blues played Ottawa and Colorado in those replays.

This is all well and good and will at least take away a little of the boredom.

For those on social media asking for FSM to show the playoff and Stanley Cup run, they cannot. They might be able to show the first round since they televised it, but NBC owns the rights to the rest of the playoffs.

Given the financial climate, I doubt Fox Sports Midwest is looking to deal out money just for the rights to show old playoff games. So, it’s a take it or leave it scenario and this is likely the best we will get.

Next. What if Blues have play-in games?. dark

Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for an eventual return to real action. For now, watching some older games will suffice.
