The St. Louis Blues have had a strange season, and although the team is shut down due to a COVID outbreak, we are still checking our lists twice to see who made the naughty and nice lists.

The 2021-22 season for the St. Louis Blues already feels similar to that of two years ago when the league was shut down prematurely, and the Blues did not get to finish their regular season.

We took a few months off and then played the remainder of the postseason inside a bubble. Leading up to the shutdown, everything seemed to happen incredibly quickly, and the same can be said for this season.

15% of the league is currently in COVID protocol, and it seemed like we had our first outbreak yesterday. Unfortunately, the Blues have not been an exception for playing undermanned and needing to play with minor leaguers.

Still, despite all the uncertainty the Blues have faced this season, they are sitting with 39 points and are one of the best teams in the NHL at the Christmas break.

The pause in the season is a perfect time to reflect on who has stood out this season for St. Louis and who should get lumps of coal in their stocking for Christmas.

First, it is essential to note that the only player in COVID protocol is forward Oskar Sundqvist. The remaining players absent from the lineup are dealing with injuries and are on injured reserve.

Additionally, it is important to note that Santa was only looking at the 2021-22 season when making his list. However, he checked it twice, so there will not be any reason for controversy.
