One of the Blues’ brightest prospects, Zachary Bolduc, has added to his personal trophy case. His team won the Memorial Cup championshipin Kamloops, British Columbia.

The Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) defeated the Western Hockey League’s Seattle Thunderbirds 5-0.  It was the final game in a round-robin competition between Canada’s best junior hockey teams.

Bolduc was a big provider for the Remparts, totaling 6 points (2 goals and 4 assists) throughout the tournament. During the regular season, he had an astonishing 50 goals and 60 assists for 110 points in Quebec’s 2-loss season en route to the QMJHL title.

The 20-year-old forward was selected in the first round, No. 17 overall, by the Blues at the 2021 NHL Draft, but has yet to play in the NHL. With numbers like that, including 55 goals and 44 assists for 99 points in 2021-22 during his first of only two seasons so far with Quebec, he might as well already be a big-leaguer.

Bolduc is part of a group of players the Blues will build around in the near future, which includes Zach Dean, a first-round pick in 2021 (30th) the Blues acquired when they traded Ivan Barbashev to Vegas before the trade deadline.

Dean also had a career year in the QMJHL with Gatineau, with 33 goals and 37 assists for 70 points.

He’s joined alongside University of Minnesota star Jimmy Snuggerud.  Snuggerud was a 2022 first-rounder by the Blues.

As of right now, he still plays for the Golden Gophers one season after his team was runner-up in the national championship to Quinnipiac.

What fans hope to see out of these 3 bright prospects will be something that gets the St. Louis Blues back to their winning ways and maybe even some playoff runs in the near future.

Next. Blues can learn from Dallas how to turn it around. dark

Until then, we’ll just see how well these 3 young men can adjust to the big leagues.
