As the St. Louis Blues' offseason has entered full swing, let's start looking at some historical data and discussing it. First off, let us take a trip through the history books at the three best goaltenders in franchise history.

This one might not make too much of a shock, but there is a reality that has set in with this particular goalie. Let's talk about it.

3. Jake Allen

Jake Allen gets us started as the third-best netminder in Blues history. In 289 games, he has a record of 148-94-26. That was his tally over seven seasons of play for St. Louis, and it is the best stuff of his 13-year career in the NHL.

Allen ranks third in wins and games played in franchise history. His 21 shutouts rank him in second place, behind probably the fourth-best goaltender and honorable mention in this article, Brian Elliott.

2. Mike Liut

Coming in at the second-best goaltender in Blues history is Mike Liut, who was a record-holder in games played and wins for a very long time. Nobody could touch his marks, which he set back in 1984-85 at just 29-years-old.

He only played six seasons in St. Louis and had a season high of 68 games played in 1982-83. 68 games in an 80-game season is seriously impressive.

1. Jordan Binnington

This should not be a shocker whatsoever. Jordan Binnington is, and will be for a long, long time, the best player to suit up for the Blues in net. He revolutionized the game with his impressive clutch ability and changed the lore of the Blues forever in just his rookie season.

No. 50 holds the team-record with 186 wins, and games played with 377. There are not many above Binnington in many of the key stats in Blues history for goaltenders.

He brought the city of St. Louis and the state of Missouri their only Stanley Cup, and did it with all the world watching in game seven of the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals against Boston.

Now, it seems like the torch is starting to fade in Binnington's grasp, and he must pass it on to another. Perhaps Joel Hofer is the next greatest goaltender of all-time.
