After having the Four Nations Face-off and the Olympic Games in the last two seasons, it is time to return to the NHL All-Star Game for 2026-27. It will take place on February 5-6, 2027, on Long Island at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
There is a new set of rules and formats this time around, and it could benefit a couple of St. Louis Blues players. Four countries with players from the NHL representing them, as well as an under-25 skills competition, really change the landscape of the voting process.
The Blues are full of young and entertaining prospects and under-25 players, as well as some players that representing their countries at the Olympics last season. These three players have the best chance of being selected for this prestigious honor for the first time in their careers in 2026-27.
Jimmy Snuggerud (USA)
Jimmy Snuggerud had a fantastic rookie season, and the 22-year-old has some serious hands and incredible shooting accuracy. With the hope of a sophomore slump being false in 2026-27, he can make a big enough impact to get some of the fan vote to make it into his first All-Star Game. The Minnesota native would be a great young addition for the United States squad.
Philip Broberg (SWE)
After representing his country in the 2026 Olympic Games in Milano Cortina, Italy, Philip Broberg is basically a lock for his first All-Star Game next season. It is up to a fan vote, but as the Blues' top defenseman, he has the best chance of these three players to make it in for the first time. His skill would be good enough to get him in, and hopefully, it will help the Blues have a solid season up to that point.
Joel Hofer (CAN)
With Jordan Binnington moving to the backup role, unofficially, it will be Joel Hofer stepping up for the Blues. But what about at the international stage, and in this case, representing Team Canada for the All-Star Game? Hofer has some sturdy competition for that spot, as Darcy Kuemper and Logan Thompson will be fighting for that spot as well.
