The St. Louis Blues, who were able to spend time at home with their families on Thanksgiving following their two-week, five-game road trip, beat the Ottawa Senators 4-3 on Friday. It was in front of the Blues faithful at the Enterprise Center, and it took a complete team effort for all 60 minutes to get it done.

Here are the three big takeaways from the game.

Binnington continues to get better

Over his last five starts, preceding this contest with Ottawa, Binnington was 2-0-3 with a respectable save percentage and goals against average in that span. The Blues have to keep on hoping that their franchise-record crushing starting goaltender can keep on getting better.

Against Ottawa, he allowed three goals, but had a Goals Saved Above Expected of 2.16, which is fantastic for Binnington. With 25 saves on 28 shots against, it was a close win, but a solid one nonetheless.

Can Binnington stay on this nice streak of starts here, and not succumb to another setback?

Schenn, Dvorsky and Buchnevich continue to shine

In what has become the most fundamentally sound trio on this roster, the Brayden Schenn, Dalibor Dvorsky, and Pavel Buchnevich line has been electricity for this Blues team. Schenn had back-to-back games with goals, Dvorsky has seen a serious jump in his productivity on the ice, and Buchnevich finally broke through with this huge goal against the Senators.

Offensive explosion

For the entire duration of the five-game road trip, the Blues scored the same number of goals in every contest, which was 2. In fact, the last time the Blues scored four goals or more in a single game this season was way back on October 25 against Detroit. So, it is safe to say that this four-goal night was an offensive explosion.

Oskar Sundqvist getting the party started with that slick off-the-back bankshot off the returning-to-position Ottawa goaltender was a great sign. Then, Jordan Kyrou and Pavel Buchnevich helped get them ahead of the Senators before the game was tied up in the third period. Matthew Kessel was the hero in this one, with the first game-winning goal of his young career.
