The St. Louis Blues finally got a win, snapping a four-game losing streak. With a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders, it was a complete effort from this team.

This road trip has been a relatively successful one, with points captured for all three games thus far. Even though this team had that long losing streak, they have been improving with each passing game.

Let's go over three things to take away from this big win.

Finally, a win

Finally, the Blues got a win. This season, it has been very hard for this franchise to get out of their own way and develope a hard fought victory. You can see it from the players on the ice that this win felt good.

All season long, there has been a mantra of this team being a step away from where they want to be. We may have finally reached that point. Now at 7-9-6 for 20 points, the Blues are moving on up the standings.

That one line is incredible

It is no secret that the reason this team has been doing much better is due to the play of a certain line of forwards. The trio of Pavel Buchnevich, Brayden Schenn, and Dalibor Dvorsky has been setting the tone over the past two games. In Philadelphia, there was a shooting gallery from both No. 89 and No. 10, but on Long Island, that hard work was rewarded with a huge goal.

That line set the tempo for the game, and the rest of the squad took it from there.

Broberg's minutes are high, and deserving

Yes, these players are paid a lot of money to play this wonderful game. This is not like other sports, where pitch count limits or sitting out of games due to rest management are not an option. But playing the top-four defenseman for an abundance of minutes is going to eventually catch up to them.

Focusing on Philip Broberg, he hit a season-high 27:58 of ice time against the Islanders, marking his second game with over 27 minutes of ice time, which he achieved on November 6 against Buffalo. He also holds the third-most minutes in one game at just under 27 minutes back in the game against Philadelphia on November 14.

He has earned the chance to play those minutes because of his stellar play and the underwhelming performance from Colton Parayko. Justin Faulk has also stepped up this season in terms of offensive contribution from the Blue line, and he added three more shots on goal against the Islanders.
