It was an eventful game for the St. Louis Blues, as they came back to win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night, 5-3.
There were a couple of big winners from this win, and thankfully, no losers. Let’s talk about it.
Winners
Dylan Holloway
Dylan Holloway was on fire in this game. He had a fantastic second period, which resulted in three assists to completely change the momentum. No. 81 was moving the puck up and down the ice, which resulted in him and Jimmy Snuggerud seeing some double shifts with Pius Suter as their centerman.
Watch out folks, the first line is starting to cook.
Jake Neighbours
On Justin Barron's first point as a Blue, Jake Neighbours got the monkey off his back with his first goal of the season. This has been a completely different vibe for No. 63 to start the season, as he was electrifying to start the 2025-26 season, prior to getting injured.
Neighbours even got a nice shoulder rub from head coach Jim Montgomery, enticing some confidence in the young winger. That "A" on his chest has definitely been adding some extra weight, and a goal lifted some of that off him.
Jimmy Snuggerud
This was a clear-cut losing effort for the Blues after Columbus got two first-period goals. Jordan Binnington was not on his best foot, again, and momentum was not in the Blues' favor.
At least, until the first line came to life, and Snuggerud turned into the goal-scorer that fans are hoping he turns out to be. Without Jordan Kyrou, No. 21 has to step it up and score a bunch of goals for this franchise, and this two-goal effort turned the tide of the game.
Jordan Binnington
As mentioned above, Binnington was not great again in the first period. He let in two goals that were pretty savable, sparking a 2-0 advantage for the Blue Jackets. But once the Blues' offense started to turn it up a notch, No. 50 stood tall in net.
Only allowing another goal in the final 40 minutes, saving 20 of 23 shots for the game. This was a big win for Binnington, and hopefully, a big win for his confidence. If not, these trade rumors will continue to get louder.
Jonatan Berggren
Breaking the tie in the third period, Jonatan Berggren continues to impress on his one-year contract. This trial run has seen him rise the ranks to the very productive second line, which continues to show up game after game.
No. 29 has shown a bunch this season, and in this game, he was the deciding factor.
