There is a chance that a third time could be the charm between St. Louis and Buffalo. They tried to get a deal done involving Robert Thomas, and that fell through. Then, a deal was 99% done before Parayko stopped it from happening via his No-Trade Clause.
This just has to happen between the two franchises, right?
There is a chance, a small chance, that could reunite a set of brothers who are entering the mid-to-end of their careers. This, of course, would be recently acquired Luke Schenn and Blues captain Brayden Schenn.
Blues can float Thomas elsewhere, giving Schenn more incentive
Aside from Vincent Trocheck of the New York Rangers, Thomas and Schenn are at the top of the list of available centers. Bobby Fink was moved to Minnesota, as well as Nick Foligno from Chicago. That opens up the floodgates for both Blues centers, and General Manager Doug Armstrong has to be listening to every deal as the deadline approaches.
If Thomas can move to say, a darkhorse team in the Rangers, or maybe to Detroit, that opens up Buffalo looking at Schenn to improve their lineup down the middle. Schenn can be swayed for the right price, and to be able to play with his brother is priceless.
Brother reunited
Speaking of Foligno, Nick now gets to play with his brother, Marcus, in Minnesota. Now, it is only right to get Brayden paired up with Luke on a lineup card. It is funny that Luke has been moved to 10 different teams with this latest move to Buffalo, which is two behind the record of 12 teams played for by Mike Sillinger; these two have never linked up.
They have both spent their entire careers battling against each other, and it would be a great thing to see if they get to play once as teammates.
