A rematch from last Tuesday's game in St. Louis (7-9-1) moves to Boston (8-8-2) and an early afternoon game. The Blues have now lost 4 games in a row, scratching out a point with the overtime loss on Thursday to Buffalo. Boston lost to Dallas 7 to 2 on Thursday night.

Injuries are reeking havoc on the St. Louis Blues, especially on defense where four players are sidelined. Torey Krug (out for the season), Nick Leddy (returning soon?), Philip Broberg (four more weeks?), and the most recent Pierre-Olivier Joseph (injured Thursday).

Enter Corey Schueneman called up from Springfield Friday. Scheuneman is paired with Justin Faulk in his 32nd NHL game. Zack Bolduc returned to the lineup after sitting out two games Jordan Binnington is back in net and Joonas Korpisalo between the pipes for Boston who is no stranger to playing against the Blues with a 4-4-0 record.

Need more offensive zone time…Blues get on the board first...

Second shot for the Blues and its one to nothing Blues with 13:35 left…a blueline shot from Scott Perunovich gets through on a tip by Radek Faksa for his second of the year. Great work by Nathan Walker to get the puck into the zone and Alexey Toropchenko’s pass back to Perunovich.

St. Louisan Trent Frederic gets the tying goal on an easy tap in from right in front of the crease after a close in pass…Perunovich unable to keep tabs on the puck and Frederic. At 9:34 we are tied at one. Boston’s 3rd shot on goal.

A failed clearing attempt by Walker goes to the Boston defenseman at the point who one times it and Frederic in front of the net deflects the shot past Binnington…Their fifth shot at 12:12 makes it 2 to 1 Bruins.

Blues to the power play for a two-many man on the ice penalty with 6;28 left. Blues were 2 for 3 on Tuesday against Boston…can they find the back of the net again?? Not this one as they generate only one shot. Period ends with the Bruins up 2 to 1 with the Blues leading in shots 11 to 6.

Tell me if you have heard this one before…Blues need a comeback

With 7:26 left in the second Oskar Sundqvist takes a bank shot off the back boards and pops it in…BUT…no goal for goaltender interference. Mathieu Joseph playing hard in front of the net gets the infraction…however no penalty.

While the second period had no score, the Blues had the advantage…several posts were rang, Blues had the advantage in shots, hits and were pushing the play.

LET’S GO BLUES!

Finally...at 10:42 of the third period the WTF line of Walker, Toropchenko and Faksa strike again…off a nice no-look feed from Faksa from behind the net to Nathan Walker and he is in the perfect spot to tie it at two.

We end regulation tied at two and we are going to overtime for the second straight game. Blues finish regulation with 29 shots on goal to 17 for the Bruins. They also had the edge in hits, 27 to 18.

We go to overtime

The Captain Brayden Schenn brings out the Zamboni with 2:07 left in OT…assisted by Colton Parayko. Schenn’s second game winner in OT this season on a rocket from the left faceoff circle to beat Korpisalo...shot looked similar to his game winner in San Jose.

Observations: The WTF line getting some well-deserved added ice time...Blues scored first...Blues outshot the Bruins 31 to 17 for the game...really dominatedthe Bruins all game...Kyrou owns the post!
