The last time the St. Louis Blues and the Chicago Balckhawks met was on December 12, and it was a 3-2 victory for the good guys. But, there was one moment at the ery end of the game that still sticks out like a sore thumb when thinking about that win.
On the final faceoff of the game, Blues captain Brayden Schenn and future Blackhawks captain Connor Bedard dueled for the draw. What came next sparked a bit of controversey across the NHL, as Bedard has not been able to suit up since then. It was a smart move by Schenn, and was even recognized by Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill as a "freak accident".
Here is the play in question.

Do Blackhawks retaliate?
This is the biggest question going into this rivalry game. It will be a Wednesday Night Rivalry game on National Television, with the entirety of both fan bases wondering if one will go after the other for the unfortunate result of that face-off.
That play was a big focal point of the Blues' win, but there was also another moment between Robby Fabbri and Teuvo Teravainen. It was a clear smashing into the Blues bench, and it really set the tone in the matchup.

Whenever these two teams play, there is always some sort of bad blood. There is an angst and violence-inducing mantra to this matchup, and it has roots in decades of battling it out attached to it. That is why the NHL chose these two teams to not only play each once, but twice, in the great outdoor game.
To ask whether or not there will be some bad blood between these two teams is like asking if the sky is blue. Whether or not the players are still upset at Schenn's accidental injury of Bedard, that will be evident at the opening face-off. Without Nathan Walker and Dylan Holloway, the Blues are a bit softer than they were the last time these two teams played, which might push this game into the Blackhawks' favor.
