In this marvelous month of February, the St. Louis Blues have a six-game home stand that will last just about the entirety of the month. That is because the 4 Nations Faceoff will kick off in about a week and change, and the Blues have three home games before and after the Tournament.

The first of the six games at the Enterprise Center is going to be against the Edmonton Oilers. This is going to be a tough test for the Blues and they have already faced this foe earlier this year in a 4-2 losing effort.

The Blues, with a record of 24-25-4 for 52 points, are still seven points behind Calgary for that last wildcard spot. The Oilers, who are tied for the top spot in the Pacific Division with Vegas, have a record of 32-16-4 for 68 points.

Preview

As stated above, the Blues could not find a way to beat the Oilers in the first match-up on December 7. After securing a solid road win against the Utah Hockey Club, this game could be a stepping stone to a winning streak.

There are a bunch of players on both sides that will make a big impact in this game. The Oilers will rely on their 1-2 punch in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. These two are amongst the league’s top-5 players suiting up every night. The Blues are still lacking that superstar talent, but they have a good core group of Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas, and Pavel Buchnevich who will be relied on.

In breaking news, the Blues are getting back one of their best defenseman, Nick Leddy. He has been out since October 15 and has been on injured reserve since October 22. This will be a great game for him to come back to, as he will have some fierce competition coming his way. Tyler Tucker will sit out and is day-to-day.

In net will be Jordan Binnington, who now has a record of 14-19-3 on the year. He was in net for the first battle between these two teams in December.

Puck drop will be at 7:00 PM CT.
