The St. Louis Blues have won six straight games and are looking to get their seventh against a similar foe. As the Blues are fighting for their playoff lives, so are the Montreal Canadiens, who come to town with barely holding onto their second wildcard position.
This game is going to have all the makings of a playoff atmosphere.
Must win for both
There is no other way to put it: Both of these teams cannot afford to lose this game. According to Moneypuck.com, this is as big as it gets for the Blues and Canadiens as we inch closer to the end of the season.

The Blues have been on fire in their last six games, but this hot streak goes on even further beyond that. Since the 4 Nations Faceoff break, they are 12-2-2, which has significantly helped them get their current standing as the second wildcard team in the Western Conference.
After making his NHL debut on Sunday night, Dalibor Dvorsky will not be in the lineup tonight. Oskar Sundqvist replaces him, and goaltender Jordan Binnington will be in the net.
The Canadiens are also in a very tight playoff race, as they hold the second wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference. They have four teams within a win of them, the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Detroit Red Wings, and Columbus Blue Jackets.
One of these teams is going to help improve their playoff chances and spoil their opposition's chances.
Last time the Blues won seven straight?
Are you curious just how long it has been since the Blues last rattled off seven straight wins. Back in 2022-23, they won seven straight games and before that was two years prior in 2019-20.
This season, the Winnipeg Jets hold the longest win streak with 11, and then four teams are tied with 8 wins in a row. This is followed by six teams that have reached the mark that the Blues are trying to reach tonight, which is winning seven games in a row.
The puck drop will be at 6:00 PM CT.
